ACADEMY FOR IMPACT THROUGH MUSIC (AIM)
Head of Engagement
The Academy for Impact through Music (AIM) is an innovation lab for changemakers tackling social inequality through music education. Challenging the status quo to catalyse transformational learning and pathways, AIM works towards supporting young people in harnessing their inner resources to lead their own lives, in and beyond music.
What I loved most about working for AIM was to be able to capitalise on the power of connection and to work at the epicenter of a global, ever-evolving ecosystem that is not only an educational bedrock, but is a guiding force for new and future generations. The inaugural role of Head of Engagement allowed for expansion and personal professional development, offering new challenges and a new lense through which to see the world.
Main responsibilities included:
-
Setting up the communication structures and workflows for AIM
-
Creating and disseminating media and press kits
-
Responsible for all media assets
-
In charge of social media channels, content creation and media productions
-
Increasing the community's external presence, setting the tone and providing firm foundations for the organisation to build on
-
Producing all the key film deliverables for AIM leading to a rich and rewarding library of beautiful footage and completed films to share with the AIM community and public (see videos below)
-
Working with and managing freelancers and firebirds (music teachers taking part in the programme) involved in communications projects
-
Responsible for cultivating engagement with AIM ambassadors, partner programs, sector experts and other key stakeholders
-
Liaising between the AIM Team, AIM Board, Founding Board and all funders
Journey of a Firebird
Filmed during the Firebird Residency 2022. I was responsible for all on-site production, interviews, script writing and piecing together the narrative. This video was directed by Greta Monreau (Flims & Films) and post-produced by Rico Andrade (Pixeldust Studios).
